ApotheBox, the original herbal learning box since 2016 helps people explore herbalism and their relationship with plants.  As the need grew, we discovered that many plants that could grow in our climate were being sourced from so far away.  So the idea for a farm grew, quite literally.  We paused the offerings and began expanding our backyard herb garden into a working farm. We don't just buy our herbs and pack them in boxes; we grow them from seed or cuttings. We put our love, sweat, and pride into each herb we offer. If we can't grow it, we find a local farmer that does!

 

Currently, we have several acres dedicated to the production of medicinal herbs and basket willow with hopes to keep expanding.  We never use herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers- keeping nature in its natural state. Hand weeding, mulching, directed irrigation, and mother nature herself are employed to manage the health of the land we steward.  Our basket willows provide not only weaving material, but also a place for insect predators like chickadees, finches, and woodpeckers to hunt and forage.  Encouraging these native birds has a beneficial impact on the rest of the farm.
